Dr. Gisele Youth is a board qualified surgeon with a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Rosalind Franklin University’s Scholl School of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois. She completed her residency at the renowned MedStar Georgetown University/MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC. After residency, she proceeded to complete a fellowship at Emory University Hospital with a focus on Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery, in Atlanta, Georgia. 
After her training Dr. Youth joined a multi-specialty health system, in rural Georgia, where she worked with patients 6 years and older. Working in this setting gave Dr. Youth the opportunity to engage in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, thanks to working alongside specialties such as pediatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, behavioral health, nutritionists, and diabetic educators, to name a few.  With the multi-disciplinary and team approach in mind, she believes in prioritizing individualized patient care, exploring non-surgical options first and collaborating closely with patients to ensure the highest quality of care, with the backing of innovative techniques and a research based approach.
Dr. Youth specializes all in facets of lower extremity pathologies; including but not limited to biomechanical pathologies  (bunions, hammer toes, flatfoot, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinitis, etc), and dermatologic pathologies (skin and nails). In addition, Dr. Youth has a special interest in diabetic pathologies & neurologic pathologies (tarsal tunnel syndrome, Morton’s neuroma, and other peripheral nerve pathologies).
Dr. Youth defines herself as a “child of the world.” She has lived in 4 countries so far; Cameroon, Ethiopia, the USA, and now Canada. She believes in giving back to the communities that have helped shape her path, and does so by getting involved in community service events and medical mission trips.
In her spare time Dr. Youth enjoys spending time with her husband and family, and exploring everything that British Columbia has to offer. Dr. Youth is excited to be part of the community of British Columbia, and is looking forward to be of service to you.
